The Learning Sciences and Technologies Academic Group (LST) at the National Institute of Education in Singapore is an interdisciplinary academic group that focuses on understanding learning in social-cultural contexts with the goal of designing and integrating learning environments and technologies. We aim to provide teachers with experience in future-ready learning designs and technology-enhanced pedagogies, and prepare them for the real-world 21st Century classrooms and their professional development journeys. LST is committed to bridging learning and instructional design, and connecting theory and practice through a variety of methodologies, including reflection-in-action, action research, design experiments and ethnography for the advancement of research and teaching. Our goal is to enable teachers to become designers for learning and teaching and active contributors in a reflective community of practice.
We offer courses for initial teacher education, as well as graduate programmes such as the Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technologies), Master of Arts in Professional Education (Training and Development), Master of Education (Learning Sciences and Technologies), Doctor of Education (Technology-Mediated Learning Environments) and Doctor of Philosophy (Education). More information about the academic group is available at http://www.nie.edu.sg/learning-sciences-and-technologies/about-lst.
