Events Details

The course will introduce teachers to the Investigative Case-Based Learning (ICBL) approach for teaching science. ICBL uses real world problems as starting places for inquiry in the classroom.

ICBL teaching is based on the 3 Ps– problem posing, problem solving and peer persuasion - the actions taken by scientists during investigations.

Analyzing and investigating real problems collaboratively in the classroom presents biology in a meaningful and memorable way.

The use of cases engages students in 21st century competencies including applying concepts to daily life, asking questions, thinking critically, solving problems, communicating, using information technology, and developing global awareness.
