Events Details

Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the key components of SEC & Lifeskills and why they are important to school and life success
  • Structure a variety of approaches to promoting student social-emotional development
  • Identify and create opportunities within their school subjects or after-school programs for the incidental teaching of SEC & Lifeskills
  • Plan, lead and facilitate SEC & Lifeskills learning in groups
  • Structure, create and maintain cohesiveness for effective affective and SEC & Lifeskills learning
  • Design materials, activities and experiences, which will facilitate positive self-esteem and resilience, and encourage positive social interaction and responsible behavior
  • Facilitate student skill acquisition in and explain the influences of self and group dynamics on:
    • Intrapersonal competencies
    • Interpersonal relationships
    • Communication
    • Leadership
    • Learning and goal-setting
    • Responsible decision-making
    • Problem Solving
    • Conflict Resolution
