* Trainee teachers offering The Teaching of Chemistry/Physics/Biology who are with only ‘O’ or ‘A’ level in Chemistry, Physics or Biology and have not taken foundation modules in that particular discipline at University level are required to offer two enrichment modules in that discipline. Each module carries 3 AUs and comprises e-based lectures, tutorials, laboratory work and tests.

w All trainees offering The Teaching of Mathematics and The Teaching of Lower Secondary Mathematics are required to offer an on-line self-study module to do independent study in topics in ‘O’ level Mathematics. The module “Essential Mathematics for Secondary Teachers" is offered on a Pass / Fail basis and carries 0 AU. Trainees must pass the module to obtain their PGDE(S).

v Although the Practicum carries zero AUs, a trainee teacher must pass the Practicum before he/she can be awarded the PGDE.

*  This module is offered on a Pass/Fail basis. The module must be passed in order to fulfill programme requirements.

+ In addition to the Use of English in Teaching, trainee teachers doing the Teaching of Malay Language as their second CS subject must do Use of Malay in Teaching.

++ In addition to the Use of English in Teaching, trainee teachers doing the Teaching of Tamil Language as their second CS subject must do Use of Tamil in Teaching.
