At the 2nd National Convention on Positive Psychology held in Naga City, Philippines from 8 to 10 December 2016, OER Research Scientist Dr Imelda Santos Caleon delivered a keynote address and conducted a workshop.

The keynote, titled “Nurturing positivity in schools: Lessons from Singapore and beyond”, explored how positive psychology activities were developed and executed in the Singaporean classroom. Dr Caleon shared on the outcomes that resulted from this study, the challenges involved in implementing positive psychology activities and possible new areas of focus in the fields of positive psychology and positive education.

The workshop, titled “Cultivating Gratitude and Hope: A Workshop for Positive Educators”, gave participants the opportunity to engage in gratitude- and hope-based activities that aim to promote students’ well-being and foster positivity in schools. Participants were also invited to share on how they would incorporate these activities into their classrooms.

Both the keynote and workshop are based on OER Project titled “Nurturing Positivity: A Positive Psychology Intervention to Enhance Well-being, Engagement, and Achievement among At-risk Students”.
