Dr Kenneth Lim Visits Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

Research Scientist at the Office of Education Research (OER), Dr Kenneth Lim, visited the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) between 28 – 30 April 2016.
He was invited to deliver the opening keynote address of the International Conference on Science and Mathematics Education 2016 held in Bandung, Indonesia, on 30 April 2016. It is a joint conference organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Science Education, UPI, Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Tuanku Bainun (Malaysia), and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Dr Lim also met up with Dr Riandi, Chair of the Conference, as well as Dr Ari Widodo, the Vice-Dean for Academics and Student Affairs at UPI. They visited five schools in Bandung and Lembang.
During these school visits, Dr Lim introduced to school leaders and teachers the approach of STEM-based curriculum design through the concept of Disciplinary Intuitions. This will be followed up later in the year with professional development sessions for the teachers. The five schools, together with a sixth school in Sampit, Kalimantan, will adopt the curriculum in the second semester.
