Dr Tan Liang See as a Keynote Speaker in the 2nd International Conference and 6th National Tri-Level Conference of Teachers and Educators, Philippines

Dr Tan Liang See, Head of Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice and Assistant Dean (School Partnerships) at the Office of Education Research, was recently invited to be the keynote speaker at the 2nd International Conference and 6th National Tri-level Conference of Teachers and Educators. The international conference titled “Teacher Quality at the Heart of Education Reforms and Movements” was held in Manila from 3-5 October 2016. It was spearheaded by the University of Santo Tomas – College of Education and the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. – Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (MBFI-NOTED).
In her keynote speech, Dr Tan shared on teacher learning and professional development with teacher learning within communities such as the professional learning communities and networked learning communities. These teacher learning settings encourage productive professional dialogue, capitalize distributed expertise and embrace multiple perspectives, resulting in the nurturing of reflective practitioners. In her sharing, she drew on key research findings in the Singapore context and lessons learned from the state of development in teacher learning and professional development in Singapore.
