Abstract

This presentation reports on an evaluation of a one-year Early Years Writer in Residence Project in Scotland. A partnership between Scottish Book Trust and Home-Start involved an author working in collaboration with a group of parents to generate ideas for a children’s
picture book for publication. Drawing on questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and reflective journals the research aimed to examine the perceptions of the participants during the residency and to investigate the project’s impact on the families in terms of their
involvement in language and literacy practices.
