Enhanced Teaching Scholars Programme Rolled Out
Wednesday, 07 June 2017
This coming August 2017, the fourth batch of NTU-NIE Teaching Scholars (TSP) can look forward to an exciting and rigorous multi-disciplinary curriculum that supplements the core curriculum of the BA(Ed)/ BSc(Ed) degree programme to better equip them for the 21st century classroom. This enhanced programme would feature robust content specializations, a wider selection of electives, seminars by distinguished professors, Nobel laureates, government leaders and industry luminaries as well as various multiple perspective opportunities through the international practicums, semester exchange, internships and service learning.
“Teaching is a profession that lays the foundation for all professions. We hope to provide our students the best preparation possible so that they may have the knowledge, skills and attributes to be the best educators they can be,” said Dr Liu Woon Chia, Dean of Teacher Education, NIE.
To better equip these leaders in education, students would be expected to challenge their own creativity, be exposed to innovative pedagogies and develop strong inquiry-based learning that are grounded in Content and Education.
