Ms Montserrat Gomendio, the newly appointed Deputy Director for Education and Skills, OECD visited NIE on 18 Mar 2016. She was accompanied by her husband Mr José Ignacio Wert (Ambassador, Permanent Representative to OECD) who was visiting in a personal capacity.

Associate Professor Low Ee Ling (Head/SPAQ) and Associate Professor Ivy Tan Geok Chin (Associate Dean/TE) co-hosted the guests on behalf of Director/NIE and gave a tour of NIE’s collaborative classrooms and the Primary English Language Classroom (PELC, Lower Primary) that was facilitated by the English Language and Literature Academic Group (ELL AG). The guests were given an overview of NIE and Singapore’s initial teacher preparation programmes. There were lively exchanges between guests and hosts.
