The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore celebrates the graduation of 1,216 new and returning teachers joining the Singapore Education Service. They will receive their certificates and awards during the Teachers’ Investiture Ceremony (TIC) from 6 to 7 July 2015 at the Nanyang Auditorium, NTU.

Inaugural recipients of the Tan Poey Quee Teaching Excellence Fund

This year, we will also celebrate two inaugural recipients for the Tan Poey Quee Practicum Book Prize Awards in a degree programme at the first ceremony and in a diploma programme at the third ceremony. Both recipients will receive up to S$500 each in recognition for their excellent performance during their teaching practicums. The two inaugural recipients are:

These awards are made possible through the Tan Poey Quee Teaching Excellence Fund donated by Mothercare Singapore Chairman, Mr Pang Kim Hin to NIE to encourage and recognise the efforts of NIE students dedicated to education research and teaching. The sum of S$2 million, comprising of a donated S$1 million with a matching grant from the government, is named after Mr Pang’s late mother, who had a deep passion for education and teacher professional development.
