The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore celebrates the graduation of 1,961 newly qualified teachers joining the Singapore Education Service. They will receive their certificates and awards during the Teachers' Investiture Ceremony (TIC) from 6 to 8 July 2011 at the Nanyang Auditorium. Programme details of the four ceremonies which will be held over three days are appended below:

TIC July 2011 will also celebrate the exceptional achievements of 34 award recipients. Amongst them, six will be receiving a total of two awards each – they are, Ms Wang Yimei Amy, Mr Cai Zhiwen, Mr Lee Ke Hin, Ms Tham Xin-Yi Pamela, Mr Muhammad Herwanto Bin Johari, and Mr Tan Shin Eik. The Valedictorian of the first ceremony on 6 July 2011, Mr Jonathan Leo Ng, who will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education, is the only recipient to receive four awards this year – they are, Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, The Sng Yew Chong Award, Singapore National Olympic Council Book Prize and The SPC Book Prize.

On the same day at 3pm, Mr Muhammad Herwanto Bin Johari will receive two awards for his outstanding leadership and dedication to student activities in the Institute or services to the community and for Best Performance in the Diploma in Education (Malay Specialisation). Ms Shavitha Jamna Ramakrishnan will receive the Singapore Tamil Teachers Union Book Prize in recognition of her Best Performance in all the Tamil components of the Diploma in Education (Tamil Specialisation) including a Distinction or Credit in Practicum.
