OER Organizes 18th Request for Proposal (RFP) Ideation Session
Wednesday, 07 June 2017
Started since the 16th RFP with an aim to encourage collaborative research between NIE researchers and its key stakeholders, OER held its third run of the event, the 18th RFP Ideation Session, on 5 April 2017.
Themed “Educational Change: Innovations and Transitions in Leadership, Curriculum, Assessment Pedagogy and Identity”, the session began with an interesting and engaging opening address by Professor Andrew Brown who spoke on the topic of “The Path to Research Enhanced Practice (and Practice Enhanced Research)”. Based on his life experiences and career trajectory, Prof Brown’s presentation grasped the attention of the audience and set the tone for the breakout group sessions that followed.

A sharing on the grant theme followed and participants were then split into breakout groups to share and discuss potential proposals in six areas namely: Leadership; Transitions; Identities; and Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy Innovations.
The session was concluded with moderators sharing a summary of their respective group discussions. Overall, the ideation among the key stakeholders provided an excellent opportunity for networking and an exchange of ideas and opportunities for future research collaborations. It also received positive feedback from over 40 participants comprising MOE and AST officers, principals, teachers, and NIE faculty staff.
