The convocation on 29 July was not the end of a journey although it certainly was a culmination of all the hard work we have put in balancing school, work and family.
The 4-3-3 programme chronicled a challenging yet fulfilling learning journey for the five of us from Loyang Primary School. With the support and encouragement from our Principal, Mrs Chin Shin Wea, we eagerly embarked on the inaugural 4-3-3 Masters of Education Programme in June 2006.
Our weekly sojourn to Meridian Junior College on Friday evenings was an enriching and memorable experience. We had not only gained a wealth of precious knowledge from our lecturers and tutors, the peer interaction during class discussions and modular assignments provided much intellectual stimulation and gratification.
The programme has propelled us to greater heights in terms of our professional and personal development. It has catalytically aroused in us a zeal for learning, awakening us to the possibility of bigger dreams. The programme has widened our horizon and made us realise the need to engage in continuous learning in our relentless pursuit of academic excellence.
We reflected on the various principles and theories of teaching and learning; and are inspired to explore researches that make teaching and learning more effective and relevant. Through perseverance, teamwork and encouragement, we can confidently say that we are now better equipped to meet the challenges of the teaching profession having gone through an engaging and fun experience ourselves through the 4-3-3 programme.
