Graduation Ceremony: 28 January 2013, 3.00 pm at Nanyang Auditorium, Nanyang Technological University, 50 Nanyang Avenue, Singapore 639798
The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore celebrates the first graduation of student teachers for 2013 on Monday, 28 January 2013 at 3.00 pm. The NIE celebrations will see a total of 317 newly qualified teachers who will join the teaching profession this month at the NIE Teachers’ Investiture Ceremony (TIC) held at the Nanyang Auditorium, 50 Nanyang Avenue, Nanyang Technological University.
This ceremony will mark the inaugural batch of graduating teachers for the year 2013. In addition, it celebrates the second fold of graduands who had joined the Bachelor of Education Programme (B Ed) specially designed for non-graduate primary school teachers in Singapore who wish to obtain a degree through a part-time programme. A total of 24 graduands completed the three-and-a-half-year B Ed programme since July 2009 will graduate at the ceremony. NIE is also pleased to welcome Mr Hawazi Daipi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower who will grace the ceremony. Mr Hawazi will award 5 outstanding teachers with prizes for their academic achievements at the ceremony.
