NIE's PhD student, Mr Jason Lee Wen Yau, who is with the Learning Sciences and Technologies Academic Group and a part-time researcher with the Learning Sciences Laboratory, has won the Best Paper Award at the Global Learn Asia Pacific 2011 Conference in Melbourne, Australia.
NIE's Overseas Graduate Scholar, Ms Suzanne Choo, from the English Language and Literature Academic Group studying at Teachers College, Columbia University, has won the 2010 International Award for Excellence presented by the Humanities Journal for her article, "Cultivating Moral Sensibilities through Aesthetic Education: The Power of Everyday Cosmopolitanism".
It was my recent training at NIE that brought me to this new world of teaching. I wanted to create a wonderful atmosphere for learning and I believe the training I received at NIE will help me to achieve this.
You may have heard of our programme, Doctor in Education (EdD), before but have you heard that come January 2012, there will now be a new EdD programme in NIE? Confused?
NIE has been an active and close collaborator with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Singapore since early 2010. Since then, many combined efforts have been centered on raising awareness through unique activities for its largely teaching alumni community.
