NIE congratulates
colleagues who have been awarded the 2010 Nanyang Awards for Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Service and Excellence in Teamwork.
The Nanyang Awards, launched in 2005, are NTU's most prestigious awards given to honour faculty, staff and students for their outstanding accomplishments in Teaching, Research, Innovation, Service, Teamwork, Humanitarian Work and Meritorious Achievement.
The award winners received their trophies from the Guest-of-Honour, Professor Bertil Andersson, NTU's President-Designate and Provost, during the annual awards presentation ceremony on 5 April 2011, at the Nanyang Auditorium, NTU.
They have exhibited excellent teaching practices and enriched the learning experiences of their students through their enthusiasm, care and close rapport. The NIE recipients are:

Associate Professor Eugene I. Dairianathan
Visual and Performing Arts Academic Group
To give the highest recognition to individuals and teams whose outstanding contributions exemplify the high standards of quality service by the University.
Associate Professor Eugene I. Dairianathan from Visual and Performing Arts Academic Group has been awarded the 2010 Nanyang Award for Service.
He has been the Programme Coordinator of the ExxonMobil-NTU Explorations in the Arts Series for the last sixteen years.
Annually he helps to coordinate up to thirty concerts in the NTU and NIE campuses for the enjoyment of NTU and NIE staff and students.

To give the highest recognition to teams whose outstanding teamwork in a major University project or event brought success and honour to the University. The Youth Olympic Games cum Youth Olympic Village team comprising NTU and NIE staff members has been awarded the 2010 Nanyang Award for Teamwork. The NIE team members include:
