Objectives
The programme aims to provide education and training to professionals with instructional design processes, and to broaden the knowledge base and skills of professionals who are applying, managing and developing information technologies in school and in corporate environments.
Programme Details The Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technology) programme is designed for education and training professionals working in schools, universities, polytechnics, businesses and industries and e-learning environments. It is concerned with the application, development and management of information technologies, including e-learning, for solving instructional problems in school and corporate learning environments. Participants typically include school HoD IT, corporate trainers, instructional software developers, managers of e-learning environments, and other educational and training professionals. Participants in the programme will learn and practise solving real-world instructional and performance problems employing a variety of learning modalities.
There are two options within this programme. Participants are required to either:

Complete 8 courses plus a dissertation (Dissertation option), or

Complete 10 courses (Coursework only option)
Those selecting the Coursework only option will take a special course titled Critical Inquiry designed to act as a capstone experience for the programme as one of the 10 courses.
You do NOT have to make the decision when you apply. The decision on what option to select is made upon completion of six courses.

Entry Requirements
- A good Bachelor's degree from a recognised university
- At least a year of working experience as a corporate trainer or educational software developer or two years of school teaching experience
Candidature
The degree of Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technology) is offered only on a part-time basis. Candidates normally attend classes on two evenings per week.
The minimum and maximum periods of candidature are 24 months and 48 months respectively.
Application for Admission
The programme is open to ALL, including the general public. Applicants are to meet programme entry requirements before applying via the Direct Online Application. The PDCM-Master's Degree sponsorship for MOE graduate teachers is not applicable for this programme.
