National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore

As one of 12 academic groups of the National Institute of Education, we equip student teachers with diploma, graduate and post-graduate qualifications to teach Physical Education (PE) in schools in Singapore. Student teachers are exposed holistically to the art and science of PE.

We provide our student teachers with the most up-to-date knowledge in sport science, sport studies and sport pedagogy, and instill the right attitudes and values that foster life-long enquiry and learning. PESS graduates are eager to make a significant contribution to teaching PE in schools as well as administrative roles. Many return to PESS to pursue Master and PhD studies. There are also many who become leaders in schools. We are proud of our graduates.
