The Physical Education and Sports Science Academic Group (PESS) at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites applicants who possess a PhD in Sport Science, Coaching or Physical Education areas to apply for Assistant/Associate Professor faculty positions within the Academic Group.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a strong record of research and publications in related areas, and qualification in teaching of physical education at school level will be an advantage. These candidates should also possess evidence of very good feedback on tertiary teaching, including supervision of graduate students. On top of that, be able to show capabilities on leadership in research management (e.g., research grants received) and planning of curriculum development. Appointments may be made at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Associate Professor appointments will be expected to assume a higher level of administrative and leadership responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants are expected to teach in academic and activity courses (e.g., track & field, tennis, and badminton) at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise student teachers in teaching practicum, mentor and supervise master and doctoral students, maintain a strong research and publication record as well as assume administrative responsibilities.
