Abstract
The analysis of circuits is an important component of the Analog Electronics course. One of the primary challenges in this course is that students do not have a clear understanding of the factors influencing current flow, because- for instance -the flow of electrical current is invisible. Historically, attempts at mediating this gap in understanding are usually limited to the use of metaphors and (too) much is left to the students' imagination. This proposal seeks to use an open-source imrnersive learning environment and established design principles from a six-year learning intervention conceptualised at the NIE (and now scaled out to nearly twenty schools nationwide) to provide NTU students in Analog Electronics a means of expressing their nascent proto-understandings, intuitions, and misconceptions about current flow.
