Abstract
This study hopes to add to our currently little knowledge about NIE student teachersÂ’ (1) competency in school mathematics content knowledge at the various junctures during their teacher education, (2) increase in school mathematics content knowledge from their entry to their graduation, (3) competency in school mathematics content knowledge across different programmes (BA/BSc and PGDE), and (4) their competency in school mathematics content knowledge in comparison to their peers in undergraduate mathematics courses with the other local universities.
