Abstract
This exploratory study will review the literature on the educational and well- being benefits of being in nature, and in wild habitats and discuss the implications of findings to learning, teaching and curriculum development in Singapore. The study will also review the status of outdoor and environmental education in Singapore and its place in curriculum, and identify possible gaps. Lastly, this study will investigate the qualities, knowledge and skills of master outdoor and environmental educators; their views of the benefits of being in nature and how these could inform educational policies and curriculum development.
