At the National Institute of Education, Singapore, we deliver high quality and rigorous higher degree programmes that will challenge your thinking, develop your skills and boost your career prospects. With a long tradition of innovation in teacher education, our masters and doctoral programmes have contributed to the academic and professional development of thousands of educators in Singapore. We are also seeing an increasing number of international students joining our alumni each year.
The office for Higher Degree manages all higher degree programmes by coursework as well as research that are delivered by the various Academic Groups. NIE has three types of higher degree programmes:
- Higher degree by coursework (M.A., M. Sc, M. Ed and Master of Teaching)
- Higher degree by research (Ph.D., M.A. and M.Sc.)
- Doctor in Education (Ed.D.)
Currently, there are about 2,000 graduate students pursuing a higher degree through coursework or research at NIE. Whether you are interested in educational studies and research or in discipline content areas, you will not be disappointed. You will find something from our wide range of doctoral and master's degree programmes that will cater to your professional needs and academic aspirations.
