The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UC Santa Barbara is home to faculty, students, and staff who have strong belief in developing themselves and others as leaders in educational and psychological research, practice, and leadership. The Gervirtz Graduate School of Education of the UCSB has one of the highest quality teacher education programs in the United States. The school has been educating teachers for 100 years, since UCSB started as a state teacher’s college in 1909. The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing lauded them for their “exemplary program that operates with high standards”. In addition, UCSB was also a member of the Commission on Teacher Credentialing that prepared the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) (2009). To further its collaborations, the school works in partnership with overseas educational institutions to provide opportunities of her students to learn from their peers across the world.
