This new art gallery, Singapores first purpose built free-standing Art Gallery situated next to the Nanyang Playhouse along Nanyang Crescent houses a generous and unobstructed space for visual art exhibitions. Its mission is to support the pedagogy, research and practice aspects in the Visual Art programme within the Visual and Performing Arts Academic Group. The Gallery programme features exhibitions by art student teachers, as well as local and international shows that are not only interesting and entertaining, but are cross disciplinary and on the cutting edge of contemporary visual art.
The Art Gallery Committee welcomes exhibition proposals from schools, staff members, young emerging artists as well as established practitioners both locally and from the region. The proposals are selected based on their merits and their contribution to the teacher education programme in visual and performing arts.
