Assistant Head (Academic Quality) [Contract Position]

    • A degree from a recognised university 
    • At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant working experience, with a strong interest and track-record in social science research and/or institutional analytics and/or organisational development
    • Excellent conceptualising, analytical and writing skills
    • Strong working knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and/or data analytics
    • Proficiency in MS Office with strong working knowledge of document / information management systems
    • Meticulous, with good organisational skills
    • Strong team player with a pleasant disposition
    • Adaptable to change, able to work under pressure and to meet tight timelines
    • Willingness to learn, develop capabilities, and acquire and share new knowledge 
    • Values and attributes demonstrating integrity, professionalism, adaptability and willingness to go the extra mile
    • Academic qualifications or experience with data science and/or analytics preferred
    • Working experience in a publicly-funded educational institution may be useful but not mandatory
    • Assist and support the Head (Academic Quality) and Associate Dean (Institutional Analytics and Research) in the oversight and execution of NIE’s academic quality processes such as trend research / analysis; benchmarking; quality assurance; preparing strategy or position papers, reports & presentations; and organising / facilitating high level meetings and events
    • Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to improve and streamline processes
    • Manage staff to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment
    • Support the Head (Academic Quality) and Associate Dean (Institutional Analytics and Research) and partner other key process owners in formulating and executing the Annual Work Planning and Budgeting Cycle
    • Support the Head (Academic Quality) and Associate Dean (Institutional Analytics and Research) to facilitate specific corporate project initiatives such as Steering Committees/ Taskforces / Programme Reviews / Strategic Projects
    • Assist in ad-hoc or special projects / corporate events
