Research Assistant (Office of Education Research) [CRCD]

  • The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 4.5-month part-time (50%) contract at the Office of Education Research (OER), Centre for Research for Child Development (CRCD). 

    Project Title: CRCD Longitudinal Study

    Project Introduction: This MOE-funded study seeks to use research methodologies from the cognitive, developmental, and neural sciences, to conduct research that advances understanding of how interactions between nature and nurture affect children’s development.

    Successful applicants can expect to be involved in the planning and design of this longitudinal study. They will spend most of their time in the field collecting data as well as doing data entry.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field
    • 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in research
    • Experience in assessing and working with children aged 3 to 9 is an asset
    • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and good analytical skills
    • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Able to work cooperatively in teams
    • Possess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative statistical software programmes
    • Conduct literature review
    • Design a tablet application for data collection
    • Other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)
