Research Associate (Office of Education Research) [OER 30/17 HPY]

  • The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 15-month contract at the Office of Education Research (OER), Centre For Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP). 

    Project Title: Vice-Principals in Singapore: Key Leadership Roles, Enablers and Constraints

    Project Introduction: The project will investigate the key leadership roles enacted by school Vice-Principals (VPs) in encouraging a culture of experimentation and pedagogical innovation to establish and sustain schools for future readiness, examining both explicit tasks and tacit processes that the VPs perform in their daily operation and strategizing towards this goal.

    • Master’s Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree with honours 
    • Good project management skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong writing skills
    • Proactive and able to work independently
    • Good analytical skills
    • Knowledge of a qualitative software programme e.g. Nvivo is preferable
    • Familiarity with the local school settings/environment may be useful
    • Manage a research project
    • Assist to update literature review
    • Co-ordinate data collection, storage and archival
    • Conduct data collection (qualitative data) through interviews
    • Perform data analysis mainly through coding and organizing by themes
    • Write, compile and consolidate individual case studies
