Asst Prof Heng Tang Tang from NIE’s Policy, Curriculum and Leadership Academic Group served as Guest Editor for the latest SingTeach issue themed “Differentiated Instruction: Perspectives from Singapore”.
In her Big Idea article titled “Charting Our Own Path(s) Towards Differentiation”, Asst Prof Heng explained how DI, an educational philosophy borrowed from the West, has been approached by educators in Singapore. She also shared findings from her OER-funded research project “Exploratory Study of Singapore Teachers' Implementations and Experiences of Differentiated Instruction” and described the challenges teachers faced when trying to differentiate their instruction for students.
