Events Details

The course aims to provide participants with a sound grasp of the theoretical underpinnings of authentic assessments as well practical skills needed for designing them. The first half of the course will focus on the writings of Dewey and sociocultural theories to better understand the rationale for authentic assessments. They will also examine Messick’s construct-based approach as a basis for designing such assessments. The second half of the module will focus on practice with opportunities for participants to critique and review assessments (and their rubrics) currently used in their contexts.
