Inquiry-based instruction has been defined in a variety of ways, but fundamentally, inquiry is defined as a set of abilities that enable learners to learn science the way scientists do science. Amidst the varied discourses of science as inquiry in science education community, there is still no clear picture of how science as inquiry can be carried out. This course offers participants the various theoretical arguments relating to science as inquiry. These theoretical arguments will be applied to examine and critique interactions that happen in science classrooms so as to surface the nuances and complexities of science as inquiry in reality.
