Time: 9.30am - 11.30am

This interactive session offers practical advice on preparing and delivering effective and impactful keynote papers, conference presentations and overseas teaching consultancies. In many papers, it is easy to doze off but you won’t have a chance to do that today! This presentation is unique in the sense that you get to hear from a seasoned keynote presentor and a junior conference presentor. They would be sharing the differences and similarities in their experiences when it comes to various speaking engagements. Participants will take away useful tips and strategies for the planning and delivery of papers and making the teaching content material come alive. Both speakers are noted for engaging and dynamic presentations and will share stories of their personal successes (and embarrassments!).

A/P Maureen Neihart is Head, Psychological Studies Academic Group and Office of Academic Quality Management, NIE. Prior to coming to NIE, she worked as a child psychologist and has given more than 40 keynote addresses worldwide.

Dr Myra Bacsal is a clinical psychologist and a Lecturer in the Early Childhood and Special Needs Education Academic Group. She is passionate in making her slideshows come alive to make them more meaningful and interesting to the target audience.

Please register your attendance with the Office of Education Research by 8 August 2012.
