Organised by the Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning (GPL), this 2nd annual event focuses on NIE’s graduate students. It aims to provide a forum for graduate students to showcase their ongoing scholarly and creative research work through posters, oral and 3-Minute Thesis (3-MT©) presentations.

Themed “Interacting and Showcasing Research Learning”, graduate students participating in this event are encouraged to develop a range of skills relevant to the research process. They will have opportunities to establish networks with faculty researchers and other graduate students. Guest speakers and experts are also invited, contributing to the thought-provoking and stimulating event.

Launch of Higher Degrees Portal

Witness the launch of the much anticipated Higher Degrees Portal and find out who is the winner of the “Tag and Bag” portal naming competition. Graduate students will discover that the Higher Degrees Portal is a good one-stop gateway to NIE’s Higher Degree services, news and information. It also provides a converging environment for easy access to information and greater interactivity and community features support dialogue and knowledge sharing especially for graduate students and faculty. Special features have been included in the multi-functional portal to strengthen student scholarship and research capacities. Some features include:

-       New content which features research-related tools relevant to HD students
-       Quick access to the various research centres and research or academic related information such as publications and on-going research
-       A consolidated event platform that not only features GPL events, but also from the Academic Groups and other departments such as Libris and CeL
-       Crowd-sourcing of conferences, seminars and workshops
