Time: 9.00am - 1.00pm
is for colleagues who have done or are planning to do some research and want to
write a scientific research paper to document their findings. Its objective is
to teach the participants how a research paper is structured (ie where in the
paper do I report what?). This will be achieved by providing opportunities to
thoroughly explore a number of scientific articles and derive some underlying
principles from them. After having established the structural foundation, the
workshop will focus on operational issues such as using journal templates,
automated reference software and the use of databases for reference retrieval.
will spend a considerable amount of time reading articles during the workshop.
