13th Request for Proposal – ERFP (Research/Development)

The Office of Education Research (OER) is pleased to announce its 13th Request for Proposal (RFP). In this third tranche of funding, OER seeks to encourage research in Scaling, Translation and Knowledge Management that may facilitate the synthesis of research findings from projects in different disciplines, as well as develop scalable pedagogical interventions to enable systemic improvement in the education system.

Special Focus on (I) Collaborative Problem Solving; and (II) System Studies in Pedagogies and Educational Outcomes – CORE Research Programme

(I)     The notion of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) has always been fundamentally important in the history of human progress. In today’s highly-networked, technology-mediated knowledge economies characterised by complexity and rapid change, CPS bears much universal applicability.

OER invites proposals that examine the phenomenon of CPS from a range of theoretical, methodological and disciplinary lenses. Proposals with interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary perspectives are most welcome.

(II)   The second special focus on the CORE Research Programme focuses on understanding what goes on and what works in the Singapore classroom – more specifically, the instructional core. It is of interest to the MOE and schools to gain a better understanding of what works in the instructional core in our classrooms and schools as a critical step in the next developmental stage of our education system.

OER invites proposals that study and measure the patterns of pedagogical practices in Singapore schools, and their impact on student outcomes.

Applicants must send in their formal applications by 19 January 2015.
