Associate Professor Chow Jia Yi Invited Keynote Speaker at 8th Asian-South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP) International Congress

Associate Professor Chow Jia Yi, Associate Dean (Programme & Student Development) at NIE’s Office of Teacher Education and Physical Education & Sports Science Academic Group, was invited to give a keynote address at the 8th Asian-South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP) International Congress. The congress took place at Keimyung University in Daegu, Republic of Korea from 29 June – 3 July 2018.
His keynote address was titled “Nonlinear Pedagogy: An emphasis on exploratory learning and individualized movement skills” and was based on his OER project “Nonlinear Pedagogy and its Relevance for the New PE Curriculum”.
In his address, he discussed some empirical work on the implications and impact of a Nonlinear Pedagogy approach on the acquisition of game play behaviours and movement skills in Singapore Schools. Specifically, he spoke about key learning processes from a quantitative and qualitative perspective that arose from his OER project.
