SINGAPORE — Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, accompanied by an educational delegation yesterday paid an official visit to Singapore to view the Singaporean educational experience in the field of education assessment and means followed in its development. The visit included an official session of talks between the two sides in the presence of Lawrence Wong, Singaporean Minister of State for Education, and Zakariya bin Hamad al Sa’adi, Sultanate’s General Consul to Singapore.
The session of talks reviewed aspects of co-operation between the two countries in the educational field, in addition to giving a presentation on Exams and Assessment Council, an authority concerned with preparing exams and developing methods of educational assessment. Dr Madiha viewed the role of the Academy of Singapore Teachers, which concerned with performance of the teaching authority, as well as developing and implementing appropriate programmes for education development.
The delegation visited the National Institute of Education, an institute concerned with preparing teachers. It also provides a number of educational and administrative programmes in Singapore, in addition to providing consultancy in the field of professional development for teachers.
