We are proud to announce a research achievement by Associate Professor Rita Silver of the English Language & Literature Academic Group in NIE, who co-edited a book titled “Quadrilingual Education in Singapore: Pedagogical Innovation in Language Education” with Associate Professor Wendy Bokhorst-Heng of Crandall University in Canada.
This book is the only detailed documented study to look at Singapore’s educational system across all four official languages, showcasing the unique quadrilingual education system in Singapore. It comprises 13 chapters of empirical research, an introduction and conclusion by the editors, and four commentaries from international scholars. Of the 13 empirical articles, 11 are based on Office of Education Research funded projects concerning language and education in Singapore.
The volume includes individual articles on specific aspects of language education in Singapore with a commentary for each section by internationally known scholars who help to position the work in a broader context.
