Dr Hairon Salleh, Assistant Professor at NIE’s Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning and Policy & Leadership Studies Academic Group (PLS AG), published a paper entitled “Teacher Leadership in Singapore: The Next Wave of Effective Leadership” in Research in Educational Administration & Leadership.
His paper, which arose from a project with OER titled "Leadership for Collective Learning: An Effective Distributed Perspective", provides the practical and theoretical discussions on the growing importance of teacher leadership using the Singapore education context as an illustrative case, and discusses implications for school leaders.
In addition, together with Associate Professor Jonathan Goh of PLS AG, he also published a book chapter titled “Teacher leaders in professional learning communities in Singapore” in a book edited by Harris, A., Jones, M., & Huffman, J.B. titled “Teachers leading educational reform: The power of professional learning communities”.
Dr Hairon Salleh also delivered a Keynote Address titled “Leading Impactful Professional Learning Communities” at the ASEM LLL Hub & 13th ASEF ClassNet Conference. The conference was attended by education researchers, adult teachers, trainers and teachers and the theme was “Theory Meets Practice: Teacher Training in the Digital Era” held in Zug, Switzerland, on 8-11 September 2017.
