Dr Suzanne Choo publishes book titled “Educating for the 21st Century: Perspectives, Policies and Practices from Around the World"

Based on her OER research project entitled “Education for Twenty-first Century Global Capacities: A Comparative Case-study of Two Schools in Singapore and the United States”, Dr Suzanne Choo, Assistant Professor of the English Language & Literature Academic Group at NIE, launched a book on “Educating for the 21st Century: Perspectives, Policies and Practices from Around the World”. This book was edited by Dr Choo, Deb Sawch, Alison Villanueva and Ruth Vinz.
Published by Springer, the book offers a range of international perspectives on how education systems in various countries are educating students for the 21st century, as well as varied perspectives on 21st century global education from leading international scholars. The countries discussed in the book include Australia, Canada, Cuba, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Singapore and the United States among others.
The book provides conceptual and theoretical discussions on what it means to educate students for the 21st century as well as numerous, on-the-ground examples of schools that are implementing global education.
