Dr Wong Hwei Ming, Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy & Practice of OER published a paper titled “Implementing self-assessment in Singapore primary schools: effects on students’ perceptions of self-assessment” in Pedagogies: An International Journal. The findings and the implications of this study discuss student academic self-assessment and investigate the effects of self-assessment training on students’ perceptions towards self-assessment. Data was collected using a Self-Assessment Questionnaire, wherein the students reported on the domains of knowledge application, independent learning, communication and motivation.
Results of the study showed improvements in students’ perceptions towards self-assessment after using it, and displayed differences between students who underwent training and those who did not.
