Dr Wong Lung Hsiang’s Participation in Local and Overseas Panel Discussions on Seamless Learning and ICT Innovations in Learning

Dr Wong Lung Hsiang, Senior Research Scientist of the Learning Sciences Lab at Office of Education Research, was the featured researcher of the July 2016 instalment of the InnovLogue series. InnovLogue is a monthly seminar series curated by Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) where renowned scholars or practitioners are invited to share their studies or visions with the local Continuing Education and Training community.
On 8 July 2016, he spoke at the InnovLogue and shared his work on seamless learning, which has been carried out at primary and secondary school settings, and discussed the potential for the learning notion to be applied to the contexts of adult, continuing and workplace learning. He was part of a panel discussion moderated by IAL Adjunct Adult Educator Dr Parveen Sandhu, with fellow panelist Mr Png Bee Hin, Founder and CEO of a local technology-enhanced training provider. The seminar attracted participants from IAL, Workforce Development Agency, Institutes of Technical Education, Singapore Institute of Legal Education, hospitals, training providers, enterprises, and technological solutionists.
Dr Wong was also invited to speak and participate in international panel discussions at "The International Forum of Digital Competency 3.0" at three different cities (Taipei, New Taipei and Taichung) in Taiwan from 5 - 7 October 2016. He and another invited speaker, Prof Nancy Law from the University of Hong Kong, elaborated on the classroom practices and innovations in educational technology in Singapore and Hong Kong respectively, with a specific focus on how ICT may promote self-directed learning. A total of more than 1,500 municipal government officers, School Principals, ICT Heads of Departments, teachers, parents and publishers attended the three-day forums.
