NIE academic receives 2015 Millennium Milestone Maker Award

Assistant Professor Zachary Walker from the Early Childhood and Special Needs Education Academic Group was recently conferred the 2015 Millennium Milestone Maker Award by Global Interactions, Inc under the premise of the United Nations Academic Impact programme.

Recognised for numerous global community projects, Asst Prof Walker is one of 15 first recipients to be lauded. It is noted that through his work, he is raising awareness and money for global poverty, education, teacher training, inclusive education, mentoring, social justice, mobile technology, accessibility for the disabled, and the education of young minds which are aligned with the targets set for the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

More than 5,000 participants attended a two-day event that took place at the Sias International University, Hunan, People’s Republic of China, on 16 and 17 May 2015.
