About the Leading Foundation Teacher Award
The Leading Foundation Teacher Awards were the first awards in Singapore to honour excellence in both early childhood and special needs educators. The awards are sponsored by The Leading Foundation that was founded in 2013 by Mr Lim Siong Guan and Ms Joanne Lim, co-authors of the books “The Leader, The Teacher & You” and “Winning with Honour”.
The Leading Foundation Teacher Awards were first awarded in 2014, and are administered by the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore and the Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS).
Nominees for the awards include pre-school educators, special school educators, and Allied Educators (Learning & Behavioural Support). All nominations are assessed by a panel of experts from NIE, the Ministry of Education and the Association for Early Childhood Educators (Singapore). The panel of experts look for exemplary educators who show exceptional dedication and who go beyond the call of duty in caring for their students’ well-being and making a difference in their lives, as well as the lives of their families.
