NIE receives strong accolade as a world-class teacher education organisation

Renowned international education benchmarking experts from the US National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE), the Center on International Education Benchmarking (CIEB) and the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) visited NIE on 18 October 2016. NIE Director and members of the Senior Management hosted the delegation. The visitors were briefed about NIE’s key roles, its initial teacher preparation programmes, graduate programmes and professional learning programmes. Additionally, the guests were given a tour around the NIE campus – a collaborative classroom, the Undergraduate U-Connect@NIE (International & Industry Partnership) room, the Higher Degree Student Lounge and the NIE Library. In their 5-day visit to Singapore, the delegation also visited the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST). They came to gain an in-depth understanding of the Singapore education system.
