NIE Wins BCA's Prestigious Green Mark Platinum Award!
Tuesday, 29 May 2012
Congratulations to Head, Development and Estate Department, Mr Selvarajan Selvaratnam and his team, that has helped to put NIE Singapore on the map as a green campus of the highest standard; winning Building and Construction Authority (BCA)'s prestigious Green Mark Platinum Award - the highest recognition for NIE's environment-friendly design and practices at BCA's award ceremony on 24 May 2012.
This is an exceptionally momentous occasion for NIE Singapore as it is the fourth win in environment accolades. NIE was honoured with one of BCA’s highest awards in 2009 – the BCA Green Mark GoldPlus Award for Existing Buildings. In 2005, NIE walked off with first place in BCA’s Energy Efficient Building Award. It had also won the top award a year later at the ASEAN Energy Efficient Building Award.
The prestigious Platinum standard now acknowledges NIE Singapore as one of this year’s greenest tertiary education campuses alongside 317 award recipients across eight categories. This is a testament of the progressive excellence at DED in planning, management and execution of an outstanding environment-friendly standard in our campus buildings.
