NTU is now ranked 13th in the world, according to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking.
NTU’s Education programme, based at the National Institute of Education, has entered the global top 10 rankings for the first time this year in subject ranking for Education.
Up from last year’s placement at No. 14, it now ranks second in the Asia-Pacific. In particular, its score for academic reputation has improved from 75.7 in 2014 to 82.4.
Jumping up 26 places from last year’s ranking at 39th, NTU’s boost in ranking to No. 13 is attributed to its improved score in research citations (from 42.6 to 86.5), academic reputation (from 93.0 to 95.3) and student-to-faculty ratio, resulting in an increase in its overall score from 84.0 last year to 93.9 this year.
This year’s results make both NTU and NUS (No. 12) the top two Asian universities in the world, and ahead of numerous Ivy League and European universities.
