During the seminar, Prof Conway shared on policies related to arts teacher education in the USA and teacher education programs for music and other arts teachers in the USA. She also highlighted the tensions between the terms ‘teacher training’ and ‘teacher education’ and spoke about the challenges that beginning arts teachers in the USA face as well as their possible solutions. In between presenting, Prof Conway called on attendees to share their views and draw comparisons between the topics she raised and the arts teacher education context in Singapore.
