Dr Cheng Yuanshan graduated from experimental psychology programme from University of Ottawa, Canada. He was trained intensively in research methodology and statistics areas. He used to teach at Beijing Normal University and University of Ottawa. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as the vice director at Centre for Research on Assessment of Learning of State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning in China. At NIE, he mainly teaches master level courses such as research methods and statistics. As a cognitive psychologist, he is interested in how people make their judgments in different contingencies. Working in NIE, he has conducted educational studies relevant to educational assessments and managing students’ discipline and behavioral problems. He is also interested in the development of moral and value system in different cultures.
